The course has a duration of 2 days of class.
At the end you will receive your E.F.R. certification.
Practice the skills learned in theory.
The course focuses on practicing in a stress-free environment (not being real situations) the situations you might encounter in an emergency. By practicing these situations, you increase the readiness of a non-professional lifeguard to respond to a medical emergency.
The courses meet the first aid and CPR requirements necessary for the PADI Rescue Diver course and for the professional levels of PADI.
Emergency First Response training focuses on building confidence in non-professional rescuers and increasing their willingness to respond when faced with a medical emergency. Course participants learn easy-to-follow steps for emergency care and practice applying techniques in a stress-free learning environment. All courses are supported with self-study manuals, videos and quick reference cards to enhance learning and allow you to start learning immediately.
EFR courses are based on internationally recognised medical guidelines for emergency care.

What you will learn during the course:
Primary care (PCR)
The Emergency First Response dive course teaches you the steps and techniques for handling emergencies. You’ll practice eight techniques to help patients who don’t breathe, don’t have a pulse, may have a spinal cord injury, may be in shock, or may have severe bleeding. You will learn how to perform CPR and continue to monitor the patient so that you give the patient the best chance of survival.
Secondary Care (First Aid)
This course teaches you how to provide first aid that reduces pain and the risk of further injury. You will learn to evaluate a wide variety of injuries and illnesses.
The course allows participants to learn, practice, and apply specific emergency care techniques to help infants and children in the event of a medical emergency. It is designed for people who work with children or who are likely to have to respond to emergencies involving younger children.
This course is often integrated with the Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) courses.
CPR & DEA
The Emergency First Response dive course focuses on CPR training. When job requirements or government regulations specify this training, the CPR course covers this need. This course is often integrated into Work First Aid programs.
- EFR refreshment
It’s a good idea to refresh your first aid and CPR techniques every 24 months. Focusing on the key techniques, the course allows you to stay up to date and prepared to give help when needed.
